Messages From Our Community

  • I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Varnado in several professional settings, where she has the consummate ability to create a safe, welcoming environment where her colleagues contribute to the conversation. On a personal level, when I seek her counsel, she listens carefully to my needs, brings her insights into our conversation, and offers guidance that is unfailingly helpful.

Terry Nordstrom, PT, EdD, FAPTA

  • As a new chair of a DPT program, it has been such a blessing to have Kim as a mentor that I can reach out to as I navigate the transition process from faculty to chair. She helped me realize the importance of staying calm and unshakeable in the midst of some very hostile situations, keeping my long-term goals in mind, and remembering the greater mission to make a positive impact on society.

Prisca Collins, PT, PhD

  • Dr. Varnado’s  guidance has been pivotal in building my foundation in values-based and inclusive leadership. Moreover, the opportunity to discuss my career goals and aspirations with her has allowed me to create a clear and actionable development plan, positioning me for continued success as I navigate opportunities and challenges throughout my career.
